Chapter 5 Keyboard Wedge Interface
Introduction
This chapter covers Keyboard Wedge interface information for setting u p the scanner. Use this interface type to
attach the scanner between the keyboard and host computer. The scanner translates the bar code data into
keystrokes. The host computer accepts the keystrokes as if they originate from the keyboard.
This mode of operation allows adding bar code reading functi onality to a system designed for manual keyboard
input. In this mode the keyboard keystrokes are simply passed through.
Throughout the programming bar code menus, asterisks (*) indic ate default values.
