3 Setting up the FISH 4432/4433
Press MENU twice, to show the Setup menu, then select a pa rticular option u sing the or cursor
keys. (Section 2 Basic Operation, d escribes the basic use o f keys.)
The Setup menu and options are summari zed below. The facto ry default set tings are show n
where applicable.
Each Setup menu option is explaine d in the following sec tions.

Simulate Mode

An internal simulator allows users to learn how to o perate the fishfi nder off the water.
In Simulate mode the word Simu late flashes on the bottom of th e display. The fishf inder
generates data so that all the main displays
appear to be operational.
Use Setup > Simulate as follows:
1. Press MENU twice to show the Setup menu.
2. Highlight Simulate.
3. Press ENT to select or de-select.

Manual, Fishing and Cruising Mod es

Press AUTO to select one of the three follo wing operating mod es:
Cruise mode. Use this w hen on the move. The FISH 4432/4 433 prominently displays th e water
depth and automatically adjusts Ran ge and Gain so that the bot tom trace is displayed . Depth is
displayed in large digits.
Fishing mode . Use this when fishing .
The FISH 4432/4433 prominently displays f ish, the bottom pro file, wrecks, ro cks and all the
details that help to find fish. Gain a nd Range are optimize d automatically, increasin g the
sensitivity and fishfindi ng ability.
Manual mode. Use this to fine-tun e the fishfindin g ability of the FISH 4432/4 433. Best results
are often achieved in manual mode, but pr actice and experi ence are required to obta in the
optimum settings for differe nt conditions. Gain, g ain threshold and puls e power can all be
adjusted. Manual mode stores the most r ecent settings, so th ese do not have to be reset each
time manual mode is selected.
