CHAPTER 1 GENERAL INFORMATION
System Configuration
30DTIThe Digital Trunk Interface (DTI) interfaces the PBX directly to 30-channel PCM transmission
line. The 30-DTI has the following functions.
• Unipolar/Bipolar Conversion (HDB3 Format)
• Sig naling Insertion/Extraction
• Alarm De tection/Insertion
• Di gital PAD on Voice Signal Transmission
• Cyclic Redundancy Che cking (based on ITU-T Rec. G704)
• Channel Associated Signaling (based on ITU-T Rec. Q421 Digital R2 Signaling Code)
For connection of a 30-DTI and transmission line, e ither coaxial cable or twisted pair cable can
be used.
DCHThe D Channel Handler (DCH) provides the D Channel signaling interface through the DTI to a
Q-SIG network, and it is responsible for signaling between the PBX and the network under
control of the system MP.
A DCH can control a maximum of 30 B Channels.
24DTIThe Digital Trunk Interface (DTI) interfaces the PBX directly to 24-channel PCM transmission
line. The 24-DTI has the following functions.
• Unip olar/Bipolar Conversion (AMI Format)
• Alarm De tection/Insertion
• Di gital PAD on Voice Signal Transmission
• Cyclic Redundancy Che cking (based on ITU-T Rec. G704)
For connection of a 24-DTI and transmission line, a twist ed pair cable can be used.
DCHThe D Channel Handler (DCH) provides the D Channel signaling interface through the DTI to a
Q-SIG network, and it is responsible for signaling between the PBX and the network under
control of the system MP.
A DCH can control a maximum of 23 B Channels.
