3. If an Ethernetadapter is present in your PC, you should see an entry for Local Area
Connection.Double-click that entry.
4. SelectProperties.
5. Verifythat ‘Client for Microsoft Networks’ and ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’are present. If
not, selectInstall and add them.
6. Select‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’, click Properties, and verify that “Obtain an IPaddress
automaticallyis selected.
7. Click OK andclose all Network and Dialup Connections windows.
8. Make sure your PC is connectedto the router,then reboot your PC.

Verifying TCP/IP Properties

Tocheck your PC’s TCP/IP configuration:
1. On the Windowstaskbar, click the Start button, and then clickRun.
The Run windowopens.
2. Typecmd and then click OK.
A command window opens
3. Typeipconfig /all
YourIP Configuration information willbe listed, and should match the values below if you are
using the defaultTCP/IP settings that NETGEAR recommends:
The IP addressis between 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.254
The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0
The defaultgateway is 192.168.0.1
