Reference Manual for the Model RP614 Web Safe Router
Advanced Configuration of the Router 7-9
When set to Both or In Only,it will incorporate the RIP information that it receives.
When set to None, it willnot send any RIP packets and will ignore any RIP packets
received.
RIP Version
Thiscontrols the format and the broadcasting method of the RIP packets that the router sends.
(It recognizesboth formats when receiving.) By default, this is set for RIP-1.
RIP-1is universally supported. RIP-1 is probably adequate for most networks, unless you
have an unusual networksetup.
RIP-2carries more information. RIP-2B uses subnet broadcasting..
Static Routes
StaticRoutes provide additional routing information to your router. Under normal circumstances,
the routerhas adequate routing information after it has been configured for Internet access, and
you do not need to configureadditional static routes. You must configure static routes only for
unusualcases such as multiple routers or multiple IP subnets located on your network.
Note: If you change the LAN IP addressof therouter while connected through the
browser, you will be disconnected. You must thenopen a new connection to the new IP
addressand log in again.
