•Door vibratiereductie te activeren (VRⅡ) kunnen langere snelle sluitertijden (circa vier keer langer*) worden gebruikt waardoor meer snelle sluitertijden en zoomstanden kunnen worden toegepast, vooral wanneer u de camera vasthoudt om te fotograferen. (*Gebaseerd op resultaten verkregen volgens de meetvoorwaarden van Nikon. De effecten van vibratiereductie kunnen variëren naargelang de opnameomstandigheden en het gebruik.)

•U kunt schakelen tussen de stand NORMAL, waarmee de effecten van cameratrillingen worden verminderd bij normale opnameomstandigheden, en de stand ACTIVE, waarmee de effecten van ruwere cameratrillingen worden verminderd, zoals bij het fotograferen van een bewegend voertuig.

In de stand NORMAL onderscheidt de camera automatisch cameratrillingen van panbewegingen om de effecten van cameratrillingen tijdens horizontaal of verticaal pannen te kunnen verminderen.

•De superieure optische prestaties en de weergavekenmerken worden gemaximaliseerd door het gebruik van drie asferische en twee ED (extra- low dispersion) lenselementen die de chromatische aberratie minimaliseren. Daarnaast produceert het afgeronde diafragma een zachte en aangename beeldwaas in delen van het beeld waarop niet is scherpgesteld.

•Bij montage op een Nikon DX-formaat digitale SLR-camera’s, zoals de D300-serie en de D90, wordt de beeldhoek 53°-5°20’ en bedraagt de brandpuntsafstand in kleinbeeldequivalent circa 42-450mm.
