The Flash Mode Selector is used in the ways described below.

When the 88-104 is used with the Nikonos R8, matrix balanced fill-flash mode and center-weighted TIL flash mode are both possible.

When used with the Nikonos V, center-weighted TIL flash mode is possible.

TIL flash mode is not possible when the 88-104 is used with the Nikonos IVA

MFULL M1/4 M1/16 Manual flash mode

When the 88-104 is used with either the Nikonos R8, V, or IV-A, the flash output can be selected from among 3 options:

"M Full," "M 114," or "M 1/16."
