AThe BIcon

s

If a flashing Bicon appears in the top control panel the first time the camera is used, check that clock settings (including time zone and daylight saving time) are correct. The icon disappears when the J button is pressed to exit the menu.

AThe Clock Battery

The camera clock is powered by a separate, non-rechargeable CR1616 lithium battery with a life of about four years. When this battery is exhausted, a Bicon will be displayed in the top control panel while the exposure meters are on. For information on replacing the clock battery, see page 386.

AThe Camera Clock

The camera clock is less accurate than most watches and household clocks. Check the clock regularly against more accurate time pieces and reset as necessary.

AGPS Units (0 217)

If a GPS unit (0 376) is connected, the camera clock will be set to the time and date provided by the GPS unit (0 220).

ANikon Transfer

If the camera is connected to a computer, the supplied Nikon Transfer software can be used to synchronize the camera clock with the computer (Mac OS X version 10.5.7 excluded). Nikon Transfer can be installed from the supplied Software Suite CD.
