f4: Assign AE-L/AF-L Button

Gbutton ➜ ACustom Settings menu

Choose the role played by the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton, either by itself (Press) or when used in combination with the command dials (Press + command dials).

Selecting Press displays the following options:

	Option	Description
B	AE/AF lock	Focus and exposure lock while the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton is pressed.
C	AE lock only	Exposure locks while the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton is pressed.
E	AE lock	Exposure locks when the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton is pressed, and remains locked
	(Hold)	until the button is pressed a second time or the standby timer expires.
F	AF lock only	Focus locks while the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton is pressed.
A AF-ON		The AAE-L/AF-Lbutton initiates autofocus. The shutter-release button can
		not be used to focus.
		Press the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton to lock flash value (built-in flash and
r FV lock		compatible optional flash units only, 0 125, 305). Press again to cancel FV
		lock.
	None	Pressing the button has no effect.

Selecting Press + command dials displays the following options:

Option Description

5Choose Press the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton and rotate a command dial to choose an image area image area (0 63).

Choose non-	Press the AAE-L/AF-Lbutton and rotate a command dial to choose a lens
w CPU lens	number specified using the Non-CPU lens data option (0 149).

None	No operation is performed when the command dials are rotated while the
	AAE-L/AF-Lbutton is pressed.
