Step 1 Turn the Camera On

The Basics of Shooting and Playback

1Press the power switch to turn on the camera.

If you are turning the camera on for the first time after purchase, see “Setting the Display Language, Date, and Time” (A 22).

The lens extends and the monitor turns on.

2Check the battery level indicator and the number of exposures remaining.

Number of Exposures Remaining

The number of pictures that can be taken is displayed.

Cis displayed when no memory card is inserted in the camera, and images will be saved in the internal memory (approx. 74 MB).

The number of exposures remaining depends on the amount of available memory in the internal memory or memory card, and also varies depending on the image quality and image size (determined by the image mode setting; A 64).
