Step 4 Playing Back and Deleting Images

Playing Back Images (Playback Mode)

Basic

Press the c(playback) button.

The last image captured will be displayed in full-frame playback mode.

Rotate the rotary multi selector, or press H, I, J, or Kto view previous or next images (A11).

Images may be displayed briefly at low resolution while being read from the memory card or internal memory.

To return to shooting mode, press the cbutton, shutter-release button, or b(emovie- record) button.

When playing back images saved in the camera’s internal memory, Cis displayed. When a memory card is inserted in the camera, Cis not displayed and images saved on the memory card are played back.

CWhen the Monitor Has Turned Off to Save Power

When the power-on lamp is blinking, press the power switch, shutter-release button, cbutton, or

b(emovie-record) button to turn the monitor back on (A184).

CDisplaying Shooting Information

Press the kbutton in full-frame playback mode to display the highlight, histogram, and shooting information (A91). Press the kbutton again to return to full-frame playback mode.

CPressing the cButton to Turn On the Camera

When the camera is off, holding down the cbutton will turn the camera on in playback mode. The lens will not extend.

•When images in which the face of a person or a pet was detected at the time of shooting (A56, 74) are displayed in full-frame playback mode, depending upon the orientation of the detected face, the images may be automatically rotated for playback display (except images captured continuously with the Pet portrait scene mode (A74) or images captured with continuous shooting mode (A80)).

•For images captured with the continuous shooting feature, each series of images is treated as a

30group, and only the group’s “key picture” is displayed (sequence display ➝ A92).
