Image Quality

*The image quality can be set in shooting modes other than the short movie show mode. The setting is also applied to other shooting modes (except Time-lapse movie and Easy panorama scene modes).

Set the image quality (compression ratio) used when saving images.

Lower compression ratios result in higher quality images, but the number of images that can be saved is reduced.

a Fine		Finer image quality than Normal.
		Compression ratio: Approx. 1:4
b	Normal	Normal image quality, suitable for most applications.
	(default setting)	Compression ratio: Approx. 1:8

B Notes About Image Quality

This function may not be available to use in combination with other functions (A44).

C Number of Images That Can Be Saved

•The approximate number of images that can be saved can be checked in the monitor when shooting (A3).

•Note that due to JPEG compression, the number of images that can be saved may vary greatly depending on the image content, even when using memory cards with the same capacity and the same image quality and image size settings. In addition, the number of images that can be saved may vary depending on the make of the memory card.

•If the number of exposures remaining is 10,000 or more, the number of exposures remaining display shows “9999”.
