Controlling an RI Dock (iPod)

The following buttons can be used to control an Onkyo RI Dock with iPod that’s connected

with Manual backgroundManual background . See page 26 for hookup and setting information.

AArrow [Manual background]/[Manual background] and ENTER buttons*

Used to navigate menus and select items.

BPlay [Manual background/ Manual backgroundManual background ] button

Starts playback. If the iPod is off, it will turn on automatically. (With 3rd genera- tion iPod models, this button works as a Play/Pause button.)

CNext [Manual backgroundManual background] button

Selects the next song.

DPrevious [Manual background] button

Restarts the current song. Press it twice to select the previous song.

EFast Forward [Manual background] button

Press and hold to fast forward.

FRewind [Manual background] button

Press and hold to rewind.

GPLAYLIST [Manual background]/[Manual background] buttons*

Selects the previous or next iPod playlist.

HMENU button*

Displays a menu.

IDISPLAY button*

Press and hold down for 3 seconds to switch to iPod display. Turns on the back- light.

JSHUFFLE MODE button*

Used with the shuffle function.

KREPEAT button*

Used with the repeat function.

LALBUM [Manual background]/[Manual background] button*

Selects the next or previous iPod album.

Notes:

Buttons marked with an asterisk (*) are not supported by 3rd generation iPod models.

To use Manual backgroundManual background functionality with your RI Dock with iPod, connect it to the LINE 1 or LINE 2 input, and assign that input to the TAPE input selector. Then, change the Input Display to DOCK (see page 38).

Set the RI Dock’s RI MODE switch to HDD or HDD/DOCK.
