Connecting

To connect the modem cable, follow the steps below.

nThe modular cable that comes with the computer must be used to connect

a modem. Connect the end of the modular cable with the core to the computer.

nIn case of a lightning storm, unplug the modem cable from the telephone jack.

nDo not connect the modem to a digital telephone line. A digital line will damage the modem.

1.Plug one end of the modular cable into the modem jack.

2.Plug the other end of the modular cable into a telephone jack.

Connecting the internal modem

Do not pull on the cable or move the computer while the cable is connected.

Disconnecting

To disconnect the internal modem cable, follow the steps below.

1.Pinch the lever on the connector in the telephone jack and pull out the connector.

2.In the same way, pull the cable’s other connector out of the computer.
