6.Gently pull the hard drive carrier out of the unit while squeezing the tabs. Note the drive number on the hard drive carrier. Manual background WARNING: Never remove more than one drive at a time. Wait until the new drive is fully initialized.

7.Copy the drive number onto the drive label on the replacement hard drive carrier.

8.Install the replacement hard drive carrier as follows:

Manual background WARNING: The hard drive carrier fits into the unit only one way. If you have difficulty inserting a carrier, remove it and check its orientation.

a.Orient the drive carrier so that the drive status indicator is facing up.

b.Align the tapered ends of the carrier rails with the correct drive slot opening.

c.Slide the drive carrier gently into the unit. Make sure the carrier snaps into place.

The unit alarm stops and drive initialization begins. Drive initialization can take up to 15 hours. During initialization, the drive status indicator flashes red.

NOTES:

The unit continues recording properly during hard drive initialization.

Monitor the unit status indicator lights regularly to make sure that all drives are operating properly. In case of failure, system alarms and error messages will also display on Endura workstations and VCD5000 video console displays.

9.Close and lock the front bezel.
