Checking the Focus

When shooting with Live View, you can check the focus lock position by magnifying the image on the monitor, centering around the area in focus.

1 View the subject on the monitor, and press the shutter release button halfway.

The autofocus system operates.

2 Press the 4button while keeping the shutter release button pressed halfway.

While the shutter release button is pressed halfway, the image on the monitor is magnified centering around the AF point.

3 Turn the rear e-dial (S) to change the magnification.

Magnification can be selected from x2, x4 or x6.

4 Press the 4button or stop pressing the shutter release button halfway.

The camera is ready to take a picture.

When [AF Autozoom] is enabled in [Live View] of the [ARec. Mode 4] menu, the camera automatically magnifies the image 1 second after the focus is locked.

In \mode, the image can be magnified by simply pressing the 4button. (p.109)

The image cannot be magnified when [Contrast AF] is set to [Tracking].
