2 Open the battery cover.

Refer to Step 1 on p.45.

Remove the battery if it is inserted in the camera.

3 Insert the battery holder into the battery chamber until it locks into place, and close the battery cover.

• To use the AA batteries, set the AA battery type in [AA Battery Type] of the [R Set-up 3] menu before use. (p.214)

Check the orientation of the batteries if the camera does not operate properly.

You can confirm remaining battery level by checking the wdisplayed in the status screen or Live View screen.

[Battery depleted]

The camera turns off after displaying the message.

 

 

• yor F(red) may appear even when the battery level is sufficient if the camera is used at low temperatures or when performing continuous shooting for a long period of time.

Battery performance temporarily decreases as the temperature decreases. When using the camera in cold climates, have extra batteries at hand and keep them warm in your pocket. The impaired battery performance will return to normal at room temperature.

Have extra batteries ready when traveling abroad, or taking a lot of pictures.
