3 Getting started

The basic steps to get you started are described in this chapter.

Prepare the smart card

To be able to receive scrambled digital channels from pay-TV providers, you need a smart card (not supplied) from the provider broadcasting those channels.

Open the battery compartment.

Insert the two batteries supplied according to the indications (+/-) inside the compartment.

Close the battery compartment.

Note

Point the remote control directly at the remote sensor on the front panel and select the desired function.

Caution

Do not mix batteries or keep them in the remote control for long periods of time without use. Batteries must not be disposed of with your household waste but to a local separate battery collection system.

Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.

Warning

Insert the smart card with the chip facing down.

Notes

•You can access the information stored on the smart card by selecting MENU, and then the Menu/Settings/Smart Card submenu.

•For more information about smart cards or operators, consult your installer or dealer.
