Liquid crystal display (LCD) screen
!Ifthe display is near the vent of an air con-
ditionerwhen it is opened, make sure that
airfrom the air conditioner is not blowing
onit. Heat from the heater may damage
theLCD screen, and cool air from the cool-
ermay cause moisture to form inside the
displayresulting in possible damage. Also,
ifthe display is cooled down by the cooler,
thescreen may become dark, or the life
spanof the small fluorescent tube used in-
sidethe display may be shortened.
!Smallblack dots or white dots (bright dots)
mayappear on the LCD screen. These are
dueto the characteristics of the LCD
screenand do not indicate a problem with
thedisplay.
!Atlow temperatures, the LCD screen may
bedark for a while after the power is turned
on.
!TheLCD screen will be difficult to see if it is
exposedto direct sunlight.
!Whenusing a portable phone, keep the an-
tennaof the portable phone away from the
displayto prevent disruption of the videoby
theappearance of spots, colored stripes,
etc.
For viewing the LCD comfortably
Dueto its construction, the viewing angle of
thescreen size is limited. You can adjust it by
changingeither screen size or picture adjust-
ment.
LED (light-emitting diode)backlight
!Atlow temperatures, using the LED back-
lightmay increase image lag and degrade
theimage quality because of the character-
isticsof the LCD screen. Image quality will
improvewith an increase in temperature.
!Toprotect the LED backlight, display will
darkenin the following environment:
Inthe direct sunlight
Nearthe heater vent
!Theproduct lifetime of the LED backlight is
morethan 10 000 hours. However, it may
decreaseif used in high temperatures.
!Ifthe LED backlight reaches the end of its
productlifetime, the screen will become
darkand the image will no longer be pro-
jected.In this case, please consult your
dealeror the nearest authorized PIONEER
ServiceStation.
Changing the wide screen size
Bychanging the screen size from 4:3 to 16:9,
youcan adjust the screen so that the screen
canfit to the video image you are playing.

Changing the picture adjustment
Youcan make the best adjustment to the pic-
turedisplay by the Brightness,Contrast,
Color,Hue,Temperatureand Black Level.
Youcan also dim or brighten the overall pic-
turethe Dimmer.

Keeping the display in goodcondition
!Whenremoving dust from the screen or
cleaningthe display, first turn the system
poweroff, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
!Whenwiping the screen, take care not to
scratchthe surface. Do not use harsh or
abrasivechemical cleaners.
Small fluorescenttube
!Asmall fluorescent tube is used inside the
displayto illuminate the LCD screen.
