Setting the rear output andsubwoofer controller
Thisunits rear output (rear speaker leads out-
put)can be used for full-rangespeaker
(REARSP :FULL) or subwoofer (REAR SP:S/W)
connection.If you switch the rear output set-
tingto REAR SP:S/W, you can connect a rear
speakerlead directly to a subwoofer without
usingan auxiliary amp.
Initially,the unit is set for rear full-range speak-
erconnection (REAR SP:FULL). When rear
outputis connected to full range speakers
(whenREAR SP:FULL is selected), you can
connectthe RCA subwoofer output to a sub-
woofer.In this case, you can select whether to
usethe subwoofer controller s (low pass filter,
phase)built-in PREOUT :S/W or the auxiliary
PREOUT:FULL.
1 PressFUNCTION to select REAR SP.
PressFUNCTION repeatedly until REAR SP ap-
pearsin the display.
2 Pressaor bto switch the rear output
setting.
Pressingaor bwill switch between
REARSP :FULL (full-rangespeaker) and
REARSP :S/W (subwoofer)and that status will
bedisplayed.
#Whenno subwoofer is connected to the rear
output,select REAR SP:FULL.
#Whena subwoofer is connected to the rear
output,set for subwoofer REAR SP:S/W.
#Whenthe rear output setting is
REARSP :S/W, you cannot change the subwoofer
controller.
3 Presscor dto switch the subwoofer
outputor non fading output.
Pressingcor dwill switch between
PREOUT:S/W and PREOUT:FULL and that
statuswill be displayed.
Notes
!Evenif you change this setting, there is no
outputunless you turn the nonfading output
(referto Using nonfading output on page 35)
orsubwoofer output (refer to Using subwoofer
outputon page 34) in the audio menu on.
!Ifyou change the subwoofer controller, sub-
wooferoutput and nonfading output in the
audiomenu return to the factory settings.
Switching the soundmuting/attenuation
Soundfrom this system is muted or attenu-
atedautomatically when the signal from the
equipmentwith mute function is received.
!Thesound is muted or attenuated, MUTE
orAT T aredisplayed and no audio adjust-
mentis possible.
!Soundfrom this system returns to normal
whenthe muting or attenuation is can-
celed.
1 PressFUNCTION to select Telephone.
PressFUNCTION repeatedly until Telephone
appearsin the display.
2 Presscor dto switch the telephone
muting/attenuation.
Pressingcor dwill switch between
Telephone:ATT (attenuation) and
Telephone:MUTE (muting) and that status
willbe displayed.
