Eaton’s connectivity products are accessory hardware options used to provide Powerware UPS products to external communication devices. We offer a variety of connectivity products to ensure communication compatibility with a variety of external devices through the Web, serial, USB, relays, or SNMP.

ConnectUPS Web/SNMP Devices

Solutions for the changing global customer landscape

The ConnectUPS-X, ConnectUPS-BD, and ConnectUPS-E Web/SNMP devices are designed for the rigorous task of managing the UPS that protects equipment and the critical data residing throughout

the network.

Features and Benefits

Monitoring via Web (computer, PDA, or cell phone) or via SNMP (Network Management System) provides easy, anytime, anywhere access

Built-in three port switching hub (in X-Slot version) adds three

10/100 Mbps power connected network connections with no additional expense

Alarm notification through any combination of e-mail, SNMP traps, or network message speeds corrective action

Integrated NetWatch Client software provides graceful, unattended

shutdown of computer operating systems in the event of an extended power failure

Powerware MultiView software provides simultaneous UPS monitoring through multiple ConnectUPS-X, -BD, and -E cards from a single computer console

SSL and SSH encryption and authentication

Automatic local language detection and support; Spanish, Chinese, German, Italian, French, and Portuguese among others

Powerware Expansion Chassis & Modbus Card

Increasing the flexibility of UPS Monitoring & Management

The Expansion Chassis is a three-slot peripheral device that expands communication methods for a UPS through its support for X-Slot cards. It is pre- configured with the Powerware Modbus card, which serves as the interface to Modbus networks and as the integral communications controller for the other two slots.

Features and Benefits

Creates an array of communication options for Powerware UPSs

Serves as the framework for protocol conversion via compatible X-Slot cards to: Modbus, SNMP, and HTTP

Add expanded communication support for a wide range of UPS models: Powerware 5115, 5125, 9120, 9125, 9170+, 9315, and 9355

Flexible mounting options (via included feet, rack or wall-mounting kits); redundant power inputs

Alarm notification speeds corrective action through any combination of e-mail, SNMP traps, or NetWatch Client software

Compatible with X-Slot cards: Modbus Card (one included), ConnectUPS-X Web/SNMP Card, Single Port Serial Card, and Multi-Server Card

Multi-Server Card & Relay Interface Cards

Out-of-band Communications and Notification

OF UPS Alarm Status

The Multi-Server Card provides out-of-band serial communications with Powerware LanSafe software when Ethernet connectivity is not available or required. Load segment control is mapped to specific serial ports on the card to provide selective control over critical loads. The Relay Interface Cards provide simple alarm notification via isolated contacts to signal remote alarm panels or security systems in the event of a change of state in UPS operation.

Features and Benefits

Provides out-of-band communication methods via RS-232 serial communications or isolated Form-C relay contacts

Multi-Server Card connects up to three servers for monitoring and graceful shutdown; supports load segment control and RS-232 signals for low battery and AC Fail

Relay Interface Card provides isolated dry contact Form-C relay outputs for Utility failure, Low battery, UPS alarm/OK, and On bypass

User-selectable normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) contacts

Shutdown function to remotely shutdown UPS in the event of an emergency

IBM AS/400 computer port (DB-15)

Terminal block outputs available on X-Slot card

Works with any Powerware UPS equipped with an X-Slot communication bay, in addition to the Powerware 9120 and Powerware 9170+
