New Message
Then ew message alert sounds a tone when you receive a new text message
or voice mail notification.
Toset the new message alert
1. From standby mode, press menu.
2. Press forPreferences.
3. Press forAlerts.
4. Press forNew Message.
5. Scroll to select one of the foll owing:
■Off – Phoned oesnot sound a beep when a new message is received
■Once – Phone sounds one beep when a new message is received
■Periodic – Phone sounds a beepperiodically when a new message
is received until you retrieve the message by pressi ng
6. Press ok.
CallingYou can set the Calling featurest o automaticallyanswer the phone or
redial a busy number. You can also set one-touch dial,any-key answer, or
deep sleep to “on.”
Auto Answ er
You can set the number of times the phone rings before it a utomatically
answers a call.
To set a uto an swer
1. From standby mode, press menu.
2. Press forPreferences.
3. Press for Calling.
4. Press forAutoAnswer.
5. Scroll to select one of the foll owing:
■Off – Phone does not automatically answer
■After 1 ring – Phone automaticallyanswers after 1 ring
■After 2 rings – Phone automatically answers after 2 rings
■Car kit only1 ring – Phone automatically answers when installed
in the car kit after 1 ring
■Carkit only 2 rings – Phone automatically answers wheninstalled
in the car kit after 2 rings
6. Press ok. If you select an option other than “off,” the message
“-AutoAnswer-” displays in place of the timewhile in standby mode.
