Security module
The security moduleactivates your phone when in Globalstar satellite
mode. It is located on the lower left side of thefron tof the phone. The
security module that comes with your phone works only with that phone
and is not interchan geable.
Caution
Do not remove the security modul e.
When in Globalstar satellite mode, the security module must be properly
installedto make or receive calls. If it is not properly installed,you can only
make calls to emergency numbers. Formore information, contact your
satellite service provider, who installs and maintains the security module.
Antenna basics
Phoneperform ancedepends on the strength of the signal it receives. As you
fullyextend the cellular antenna or rotate the Globalstar satellite antenna,
the signal strength indicator shows the strength of the signalreceived in
thatparticular antenna position. You cannot make or receive a satellitecall
with the Globalstarsatellite antenna stored.
It is important to use the antennas properly for thebest performance.
Follow these guidelinesfor the Globalstar satellite and cellular antennas:
■Never holdthe phone by the antenna.
■Do not use the phone if either antenna is damaged, unless you are
using it with the car kit.
