ADJUSTING THE HANDSET’S VOLUME

The ET-689 has three volume levels. To change the volume you hear through the handset, press VOLUME or on the side of the handset to increase or de- crease the volume during a call.

USING REDIAL

You can quickly dial the last number di- aled on a line. Press the button (LINE 1 or LINE 2) for the line you want to use, then press REDIAL when you hear a dial tone.

Notes:

The redial memory holds up to 24 digits, so you can redial long-dis- tance as well as local numbers.

The redial memory also holds pause entries. See “Entering a Pause” on Page 17.

The redial memory does not store a flash entry or any digits you press after FLASH (see “Using Flash”).

USING FLASH

FLASH performs the electronic equiva- lent of a switchhook operation for spe- cial services such as Call Waiting.

For example, if you have Call Waiting, press FLASH to answer an incoming call without disconnecting the current call. Press FLASH again to return to the first call.

Note: If you do not have any special phone services, pressing FLASH might disconnect the current call.
