Viewing What You Are Recording Using the Viewfinder or LCD Monitor

You can watch what you are recording in the black-and-white viewfinder or on the color LCD monitor. Opening the monitor turns off the viewfinder unless the monitor is rotated 130º or more.

Using the Viewfinder

The camcorder’s viewfinder is a miniature black-and-white monitor that displays the picture seen by the camcorder when recording. For convenient viewing, you can rotate the viewfinder up and down.

Cautions: Do not force the viewfinder to rotate completely around. This will damage the viewfinder and/or the camcorder.

When carrying the camcorder with the shoulder strap, place the viewfinder down. This helps prevent possible damage to the viewfinder from bumping against your body as you move.

Do not direct the viewfinder toward the sun or key parts in the cavity may burn.

Eyepiece Focus Control

The eyepiece focus control lets you set the focus of the viewfinder for your vision. If you wear eyeglasses, you probably can operate the camcorder without them.
