Advanced Features
NOTE

To use the Timeshift mode or the Recorde d TV function, a connected US B device must be execute the Device
Format function to proper form for reco rding.
During the device formatting, do not disconnect the device while formatting is in progress. If you format the device, all
files will be deleted.
Before formatting your device to the tv, please back up your files to prevent them from damage or loss of data.
SAMSUNG is not responsible for any data file damage or data loss.

Recorded videos are DRM (digital r ights managements) protected and c annot be played on a PC or other TVs. Note
that files saved on the TV cannot be u sed after the main board is chan ged.

If the 10M free memory space limit of the US B storage device is reached, the cur rent recording process will b e
closed.

We recommend using a USB HDD with at lea st 5 400 rpm, but a USB HDD of RAID typ e is not supported.

The availability of both recording a nd the Timeshift functi on may differ depending on p icture quality and the free
space on the hard disk drive.

Note that if you have paused the recording the T V will automatically resum e playback.

If the 5% free memory space limit of the USB s torage device is reached, the curr ent recording process will b e closed.

When recording is performe d by both the PVR (Personal Video Re corder) function and a devic e that supports the
HDMI-CEC feature, recording by the PVR f unction takes precedence.

During a playback or the Timeshi ft, the picture will be displayed acc ording to the display settings of the T V.

If you change the input source durin g recording, the screen will go bl ank until the change is complete d.

If the USB device has failed the Devic e Performance Test, the USB device m ust go through the Device Format a nd
Device Performance Test again befo re you record with the Guide or Cha nnel.

The Timeshift functions c an only be used with a USB storage dev ice that completed the Device Per formance Test.

If you attempt the recording or Timesh ift function with a device that di d not have the Device Performa nce Test, the
function will not start.

If you press (REC) on the remote control while th e Channel screen is being di splayed or record with Timer
recording, the TV may start o r stop recording 1 or 2 seconds later th an you intended due to the time neede d to
process the command.

If a USB device dedicated to recording is c onnected, existing Timeshi ft or recording files that were save d abnormally
will automatically be deleted.

If you switch to external input mode duri ng recording, the recording wil l continue but the (REC) button will b e
disabled.
x
If any function that turns off the T V (Sleep Timer, Off timer, etc.) is set for a time that confli cts with recording, the TV
will be turned off once the record ing is complete.
Playing recorded TV Programme

yDuring playing the recorded TV programme, you can search using the

Device Management
Manage external devices. You can manage options such as device format, checking device, Device performance test and
default device.
yDevice format: Format the device.
yChecking device: Checks for errors on the device.
yDevice Performance Test: Test the recording performance of the device.
yDefault recording Device: Select default recording device.
yDevice Information: Show the device information
Device Type, Device Name, used Space, available Space, recordable Time, Total Space, Progress bar.
