Entering Text

Selecting a Character InputMode

Your phone provides convenientways to enter words, letters,
punctuation, and numbers whenever you are prompted to
enter text(for example, when adding a Contacts entry or
when using SprintPCS® Mail and SMS TextMessaging).
To change the character inputmode:
1. When you display a screen where you can enter text,
press Mode(rightsoftkey) to change the character
inputmode.
2. Use your navigation key to selectone of the following
options:
T9 Wordto enter characters using predictive T9 Text
Input. (See page 44.)
Alphabetto enter characters by using the Alphabet
mode. (See page 47.)
SYMBOLto enter symbols.
SMILEYS to enter smile icons.
Emoticonsto enter “emoticons.”
PRESET SUFFIX to enter a presetsuffix (for example,
www., http://www., or .com).
PresetMessages to enter presetmessages. (See
page 64.)
RecentMessages to enter messages used recently.
Note:PresetMessages, RecentMessages, and Emoticons are available only
when composing textmessages
Paste to paste copied or cuttext(if applicable).
NUMBER to enter numbers.
Signature to enter your signature. (See page 65.)
