About the auto power off function

In order to preserve battery power when, for example, the camera has accidentally been left on, the camera is furnished with an “auto power off” function by which the camera automatically turns off after a certain period of inactivity (about 1 minute during shooting or about 3 minutes during playback [factory default settings]).

i If the auto power save function has operated to turn the camera off, press the ON/OFF button to turn it back on.

i You can change the setting for the time elapsed before the camera automatically turns off (page 90).

i When the camera is connected to a computer or printer using the dedicated USB connection cable, the auto power save function is disabled, and the camera turns off after about 12 hours.
