The Stitch and Its Uses

Use this stitch when you want a narrow seam that you do not need to

press open flat. It is ideal for 1/4"

seams on knits or on medium to

heavyweight woven fabrics where you want a narrow seam. It is also great for sewing spandex swim wear.

Choose this stitch to attach elastic to garments.

1.Mark the elastic into quarters and match these to the center front, center back and side seams.

2.Place the middle of the elastic under the center of the presser foot and stitch into place, making sure the elastic is evenly distri- buted.
