8.1 Tractor Pre-Operation Inspection/Service

Refer to the tractor operator’s manual to ensure a complete pre-operation inspection and scheduled service is performed according to manufacturer recommendations. The following is a partial list of items requiring inspection:

¾Tire condition/air pressure

¾Wheel lug bolts

¾Steering linkage

¾PTO shield

¾SMV sign is clean and visible

¾Tractor’s lights are clean and functional

¾Tractor Seat belt is in good condition

¾Tractor cab or ROPS is in good condition

¾ROPS is in the raised position

¾No tractor oil leaks

¾Radiator free of debris

¾Engine oil level and condition

¾Engine coolant level and condition

¾Power brake fluid level

¾Power steering fluid level

¾Fuel condition and level

¾Sufficient lubrication at all lube points

¾Air filter condition

8.2 Mower Pre-Operation Inspection/Service

Before each mower use, a complete inspection and service is required to ensure the mower is in a good and safe working condition. Damaged and/or broken parts should be repaired and/or replaced immediately. To ensure the mower is ready for operation, conduct the following.

¾Perform scheduled lubrication as detailed in the maintenance section.

¾Ensure all decals are in place and legible.

¾Ensure the driveline is securely attached to tractor. Make sure the driveline yoke locking collar is securely seated in the grooves of the PTO shaft by pushing and pulling the yoke several times.

¾Inspect that the 3-point hitch pins are the proper size, correctly installed, and secured to the tractor lift arms with retaining pins inserted.
