DO NOT attempt any maintenance, adjustments or service with engine running. STOP engine. STOP blades. Set parking brake. Remove key. Remove spark plug wires and secure away from spark plugs. Engine and components are HOT. Avoid serious burns, allow sufficient time for all parts to cool.

8.Remove engine to deck belt from around deck pulley. NOTE: Disconnecting engine to deck belt idler spring may assist in removing belt. See Figure 5.13.
9.Remove bolts and nuts to disconnect both stabiliz- ers from mower deck and power unit. See Figure 4.12.

10.Remove wooden blocks from underneath deck and roll/slide deck from underneath power unit.
11.Reinstall deck in reverse order in which it was removed. Tighten all nuts and bolts securely. NOTE: Do not overtighten fitting nuts on front lift arms; fittings should be able to rotate.

7.Remove inside nuts that secure eyebolts to rear lift arms. See Figure 4.11.

The first filter change is recommended at 200 hours. After the first change, the recommended interval is every 500 hours. Replace both with approved filters only (Snapper P/N 1719168).
