Symptom

There is no sound.

No sound isoutputfromthe

HDMI OUTjack

The left and right sounds arc unbahmced or reversed

There is no sound from the subwool_.r

Severe Imm or noise is heard

The sound loses stereo elli:ct

when you play a VIDEO CD, a CD, or an MP3 file.

The surround eflk.ct is difficult to hear when you are playing a sound track (51:Dolby Digilal, DTS, or MPEG audio,

The sound comes from the center speaker only.

No sound is heard from the center speaker.

Remedy

•The speaker cord is not connected securely.

•Press MUTING on the remote if"MUTING ON" is displayed in the front panel display

•The system is in pause mode or in Slow-motion Play mode Press [2:>to return to normal play mode.

•Fast forward or fast reverse is perlbrmed Press [2:> to return to normal play mode.

•Check the speaker settings (page 73).

•Super Audio CD audio signals are not output from the HDMI OUT jack.

•The component connected to the HDMI OUT jack does not conform to the audio signal format, in this case set ]AUDIO (HDMI)] in [HDMI SETUP] to [ON] (page 71 )

•Set [AUDIO (HDMI)] in [HDMI SETUP] to [ON] (page 71).

•The HDMI OUT jack is connected to i DVI (Digital Visual Interface) device (DVI (Digital Visual Interface)jacks do not accept audio signals)

•The HDMI OUT jack does not output Super Audio CD sound

•Try the following: (_) Turn the system off and on again @ Turn the connected component off and on again. (_) Disconnect and then connect the HDMI cable again

•Check that the speakers and components are comlected correctly and securely

•Check the speaker connections and settings (pages 25 73)

•Select "AFD STD" lot DEC MODE" (page 49)

•Check that the speakers and components are connected securely

•Check that the connecting cords arc away from a translbrmer or motor, and at least 3 meters ( 10 fl) away from your TV set or a fluorescent light.

•Move your TV away from the audio components

•The plugs and jacks are dirty Wipe them with a cloth slightly moistened with alcohol.

•Clean the disc

•Set ]AUDIO] to ]STEREO] by pressing AUDIO (page 54)

•Make sure the unit is connected properly.

•Make sure the "DEC MODE" setting (page 49).

•Check the speaker connections and settings (pages 25, 73)

•Depending on the DVD, the oulput signal mty not be the enlire 5.1 channeh II may be monaural (51 stereo even if Ihe sound Irack is recorded in Dolby Digilal or MPEG audio format.

•Depending on the disc, the sound may come from the center speaker only.

•Check the speaker connections and settings (pages 25, 73).

•Make sure Ihe "DEC. MODE" setting (page 49).

•Depending on the source, the elli:ct of the center speaker may be less noticeable.

•A 2 channel source is being played.
