On handling discs

To prevent losing data, note the following.

•Do not stick on paper or labels, or scratch the surface of the disc.

•Do not touch the recording surface of the disc (the surface on which nothing is printed).

•Do not place a disc in a location subject to excessive dust, direct sunlight, heat sources or high humidity.

•Keep a disc from any liquid falling on it.

•When it is not in use, store it in a case.

Notes on cleaning CD-R/RW discs

•Fingerprints and dust on the surface of a disc may cause read errors.

•For normal cleaning, hold the disc by its edge and use a soft cloth to wipe the surface from the center out.

•If the disc is badly soiled, moisten a soft cloth with water, wring it out well, and use it to wipe the surface of the disc from the center out. Wipe off any remaining moisture with a dry soft cloth.

•Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners or anti-static spray, because they may cause damage to the disc.
