Shooting images
Shooting images with the settings in effect when you bought the camera is explained
here.
The camera makes decisions appropriate to the situation, and adjusts the settings.
• You can continuously record a movie for up to 29 minutes, and an MP4 format movie for up to 2GB. The
recording time may shorten depending on the ambient temperatures or recor ding conditions.
1Adjust the LCD screen angle, and hold the camera.
Or look through the viewfinder and hold the camera (NEX-6 only).
The Scene Recognition function begins to work.
2To take still images, press the shutter button halfway down to focus on
your subject, and press it fully down to shoot.
When the camera detects and shoots a face, the captured image is automatically trimmed into
a suitable composition. Both the original and the trimmed images are saved (page 9 3).
To record movies, press the MOVIE button to start recording.
Press the MOVIE button again to stop recording.

zOn Scene Recognition

The camera recognizes (Night Scene), (Tripod Night Scene), (Night Portrait),
(Backlight), (Backlight Portrait), (Portrait), (Landscape), (Macro),
(Spotlight), (Low Brightness), or (Baby), and displays the corresponding icon
and guide on the LCD screen when the scene is recognized.

recognize the shooting conditions and allows you to shoot the
image with appropriate settings.
