To set the timer for your computer to automatically enter Hibernate mode after a certain amount of time, | |||
User | open Power Options in the Control Panel. |

To activate Hibernate mode manually, use one of these two methods: |

1 | Save your work. |

| Use the Windows® taskbar: |

VAIO | 2 | From the Start menu on the Windows® taskbar, select Shut Down. |

Sony | 3 | Select Hibernate. |

4 | Click OK. |

| The computer goes into Hibernate mode, the computer turns off. |

| Use the power button: |

| Quickly press the power button on the front of the main unit. |

| The computer goes into Hibernate mode, the computer turns off. |

To return to Normal mode, choose from the following:
Press the Standby button on the keyboard. | |
| Operation returns to the same state as before. |
Press one of the PPK buttons on the keyboard and launch straight into your favorite application. | |
Quickly press the power button on your computer. | |
| Operation returns to the same state as before. |
You can leave Windows® running when using Hibernate. |
If you press the power button for more than four seconds, the computer will switch off completely.
When the computer is in Hibernate mode, you cannot insert a disc.
Hibernate uses less power than Standby.
Hibernate requires more time than Standby.
