Connecting to a network (LAN)

Your computer comes with a preinstalled Ethernet interface. This function is enabled by default.

Desktop

Should you need to enable the function yourself to connect to a network, proceed as follows:

Right-click on My Computer on the desktop and select Properties.

 

VAIO

Click the Device Manager tab.

Under the Network Adapters category, select SiS900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter.

 

 

 

Sony

Click Properties.

Click Enable Device and then click OK.

Click OK to close the System Properties window.

 

 

 

The Ethernet connection is now enabled.

 

! Connect only 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX cables to the Ethernet port. Using other cables or a telephone cable may cause a malfunction, excessive heat or even fire in the port.
