Connecting a PAY-TV/Canal Plus Decoder

You can watch or record PAY-TV/Canal Plus programmes if you connect a decoder (not supplied) to the recorder. Disconnect the recorder’s mains lead (the power cord) from the mains when connecting the decoder.

To watch or record PAY-TV/Canal Plus programmes, set your recorder to receive the channels using the Setup Display. See [Manual CH Setting] in the [General] setup (page 66).

You do not need to turn on the recorder to view the signals from the connected tuner on your TV.

•To watch or record PAY-TV/Canal Plus programmes from the LINE 1-TV jack, set [Line 3 In] in the [General] setup to [Decoder] (page 68).

•If you disconnect the recorder’s mains lead (the power cord), you will not be able to view the signals from the connected decoder.

•To watch the connected external decoder (PAYTV/Canal Plus analogue decoder) programmes while the recorder is in standby mode, set “Power Save” in the [General] setup to [Off] (default) (page 68).
