Recording Settings (Video)

The [Video] setup allows you to adjust the settings related to recording.

Select [Video] in the Setup Display. To use the display, see “Using the Setup Displays” (page 65). The default settings are underlined.

[Disc Record Mode]

Selects one of the following recording modes: HQ, SP, LP, EP and ULP (in the order of picture quality).

[DV Input]

Selects the stereo track when recording from a digital video camera connected to the DV IN jack on the front panel.

[ Stereo 1 ] Records original sound at the time of shooting. Normally select this when dubbing a DV/ Digital8 format tape.

[ Stereo 2 ] Records only additional sound over-dubbed after shooting.

[LINE 3 In]

Selects a method of inputting video signals for the LINE 3/DECODER jack. The picture will not be clear if this setting does not match the type of video input signal.

[ Auto ]

The video input signal will

 

automatically track the video

 

signal received.

 

 

[ Video ]

Inputs composite video

 

signals.

 

 

[ RGB ]

Inputs RGB signals.

 

 

[S-Video]

Inputs S-Video signals.

 

 

[Auto Chapter]

Automatically divides a recording (title) into chapters by inserting chapter markings at a specified interval. The markings are inserted while the recording is being made.

[ No

No chapter mark is inserted.

Separation ]

 

 

 

[ 5 minutes ]

Sets the interval to 5 minutes.

 

 

[ 10 minutes ]

Sets the interval to 10 minutes.

 

 

bNote

Depending on the size of the recording being made, the actual interval may vary from the interval selected in [Auto Chapter]. When recording in ULP mode, the interval is set to 10-minutes. The selected interval should only be used as an approximation to create chapters.
