Operation Amplifier

ASW: Lights up when sub woofer selection is set to “YES” (page 21). While this indicator lights up, the receiver creates a sub woofer signal based on the LFE signal in the disc being played back or the low frequency components of the front channels. This indicator does not light during the 2CH STEREO mode or when 2 channel signal is input while [A.F.D. AUTO] is selected and [A.F.D. 2CH SW] in the SURR SET UP menu is set to “OFF”.

BPlayback channel indicators: The letters (L, C, R, etc.) indicate the channels being played back. The boxes around the letters vary to show how the receiver downmixes the source sound (based on the speakers settings). L (Front Left), R (Front Right), C (Center (monaural)), SL (Surround Left), SR (Surround Right), S (Surround (monaural or the surround components obtained by Pro Logic processing)), SBL (Surround back Left)*, SBR (Surround back right)*, SB (Surround Back (the surround back components obtained by 6.1 channel decoding))

Example:

Recording format (Front/Surround): 3/2.1

Output channel: Surround speakers absent

Sound Field: A.F.D. AUTO

SW L C R

SLSR

*Lights up when the test tone for SBL or SBR signal is output.

C; DIGITAL (EX): Lights up when Dolby Digital signals are input. “EX” lights up when Dolby Digital EX signals are input.

DINPUT: Lights up constantly. One of the input indicators also lights up according to the current input.

EAUTO: Lights up when INPUT MODE is set to “AUTO 2CH” (page 37).

Fi.LINK: Lights up when an i.LINK component is connected.

GDTS (-ES):Lights up when DTS signals are input. “-ES” lights up when DTS-ES signals are input. When playing a DTS format disc, be sure that you have made digital connections and that INPUT MODE is NOT set to “ANALOG 2CH FIXED” (page 37).

HCOAX: Lights up when INPUT MODE is set to “AUTO” and the source signal is a digital signal being input through the COAXIAL terminal, or when INPUT MODE is set to “COAXIAL FIXED” (page 37).

IOPT: Lights up when INPUT MODE is set to “AUTO” and the source signal is a digital signal being input through the OPTICAL terminal, or when INPUT MODE is set to “OPTICAL FIXED” (page 37).

JANALOG: Lights up when INPUT MODE is set to “AUTO” and no digital signal is input to COAXIAL or OPTICAL jack, or when INPUT MODE is set to “ANALOG 2CH FIXED” (page 37).

KMULTI CH IN 1/2: Lights up when “MULTI CH IN 1” or “MULTI CH IN 2” is selected.

LSLEEP: Lights up when sleep timer is activated.

MD.RANGE: Lights up when dynamic range compression is activated (page 46).
