You can set timer to record the radio at a certain time.

Make sure you have set the clock (see “Setting the clock” on page 31.)

Notes

When using the player on batteries, set the timer when the power is on.

You cannot preset recording timer and waking up timer (page 32) at the same time.

Tips

We recommend that you use the AC power cord as a power source for optimum recording quality.

When you receive the MW/LW program in step 1, press r/Pto check if the noise is heard. If so, press MODE to select the position that most decreases the noise. On the player, use MENU to select “ISS”.

Before you begin, make sure the t(clock) indication is not lit in the display. If it is lit, press STANDBY.

1 Tune in the radio station and insert a blank tape into the tape compartment with the side you want to record on facing you.

3 Press TIMER/SLEEP.

4 Turn the jog dial until “TIMER SET” flashes in the display and press ENTER.

5 Turn the jog dial until “TIMER REC” flashes in the display and press ENTER.
