Connecting a portable MiniDisc recorder

If you connect the Sony portable MiniDisc recorder MZ-R30/R50 to this player using the supplied MD connecting cord, you can operate the recorder with the buttons on the player. You can also record a CD on the portable MD recorder using the specific button on the player.

Note

When you operate a portable MD recorder, use this player on AC power. If you use the player on batteries, the power will not be supplied to the recorder.

Tips

When this player supplies the power to the portable MD recorder, the rechargeable lithium- ion battery LIP-8/12 in the recorder will be charged at the same time.

To enjoy better sound, connect the optional audio connecting cord (RK-G136, etc.) to the LINE IN jack of this player and the LINE OUT jack of the recorder.

Make the following three types of connections:

Connection for supplying the power from this player to the portable MD recorder

Connection for listening to the sound of the MD on this player

Connection for digital recording of a CD on the MD Be sure to turn off the power of the player before connecting/disconnecting the AC power cord.
