If the use of unbalanced connections is unavoidable, you can
mimim ise noise b y followin g these w iring gu idelines :
On INPUTS, unbalance at the source and use a twin,
screened cable as though it were balanced. (see below)
On OUTPUTS, connect the signal to the +ve outp ut pin,
and the groun d of the output d evice to -ve. If a twin
screened cable is used, connect th e screen only at the mixer
end. (see below)

Avoid running audio cables or placing audio equipment,
close to thyristor dimmer units or pow er cables.
Noise im m un ity is im p rov ed sign ificantly by t he u se of low
impedance sources, such as good qu ality professional
microphones or the ou tputs from most mod ern audio
equipmen t. Avoid cheaper high imp edance microphones,
which may su ffer from in terferen ce over lon g cable ru ns, even
with well-made cables.
