Whenthe Phone Rings
Whenthe handset is not in the base, only a
handsethaving the identical security code
andoperating on the same channel can
accessthe base and use your phone line.
Whenthe handset is in the base, no other
handset,even those having the identical
securitycode and operating on the same
channel,can access the base and use your
line.
Digitalsecurity coding will also eliminate
the"false" ringing associated with cordless
telephonesnot equipped with this feature.
Yourcordless telephone has 40 operating
channels. The phone will automatically
searchand select the clearest channel when
youpick up the handset and press the
"TALK"button. Ifyou hear noise or other
interferenceduring your conversation, you
canmanually select a clearer channel by
pressingand releasing the channel control
onthe handset to switch to another spare
channel. Your call will not be interrupted.

occurs,place the handset back into the base
forten seconds to reset the security code
andthen make the call again.

Pressthe "SPEAKER" button on the base unit.

Youcan speak through the microphone, without

liftingthe handset or press the "TALK" Button

onthe handset. H/S display will show "LINE

INUSE". Press the "SPEAKER" button again to

terminatea call.

Theunit will beep and you can now make
thecall. If that does not work, make sure
DCadaptor is connected.Ifnecesssary,
unplugthe DC adaptorfromthe power
source.Disconnect the battery for 5 seconds
andthen reconnect. Place the handset on the
baseand then replug the DC adaptor (see
Troubleshooting).Let stand 2 minutes
beforeuse.
Ifyou experience static while using the
telephone,move closer to the base or
changethe channel by pressing the "CH"
buttonon handset.

Youcan connect a headset (not included)
forhands-free conversations.
1.Insert the headset plug (must be 3/32 inch/
2.5mmtype) into the headset jack on the side
ofthe handset.
2.Attach the belt clip to the back of the
handset.Make sure the "arms" of the belt clip
snapsecurely into the notches on the side of
thehandset. You can now attach the handset/
beltclip to the desired location on your
clothing.
3.Adjust the headset microphone to a
comfortableposition, placing it near your
mouth.
4.Press the "TALK" button to make or
receivea call.

-Whenthe belt clip is connected to the
handset,the handset can not charge on

5.To remove the belt clip from the
backof the handset, use your fingernails
toloosen one of the "arms" of the belt
clip.The other "arm" of the belt clip
willautomatically release from the
handset.
Note:
Ifyou experience difficulty with placing or
receivingcalls, lost security code may be the
causeof the problem. When this occurs, the
handsetcan no longer communicate with its
base.The loss of the code can occur any of
thefollowing ways: the battery is drained and
needsrecharging; the DC adaptor is
disconnectedor a power loss has occurred;
oranything that causes electrical
interference,for example, multiple cordless
telephones,baby monitors, televisions,
VCR'setc. Resetthe security code by
placingthe handset on the base for 10
seconds,removing it from the base, then
replacingit on the base for an additional
10seconds.
