• Close the door

Do not leave the door open as this could over-fire and damage the appliance.

5.Running The appliance

5.1Burning Wood:

Close the Primary air control and use the Airwash to control the burn rate when appliance is at operating temperature, see Diagram 9

Leave the Secondary Combustion control open The position will vary between half and fully open depending on the flue draught.

• Wood burns best on a bed of ash

Rake the embers evenly over the fire bed and open the

Airwash control fully for a few minutes before re-fuelling

5.2Burn new logs at high output for a few minutes before adjusting the Airwash control. Refuel little and often for clean, efficient burning.

5.3Experience establishes settings to suit personal preferences.

5.4Do not burn large amounts of fuel with the Airwash control closed for long periods of time. This reduces the glass cleaning effect and causes tars and creosotes to build-up in the appliance and flue system.

5.5When in use, burning the appliance at high output for a short period also reduces tars and creosote.

5.7De-ash the fire bed before re-fuelling, See Ash Removal

Open the Primary air control fully to establish a glowing bed before adding new fuel

Burn new fuel at high output for a few minutes before adjusting the Primary air control to the desired setting
