3-3 Installing and Removing the Memory Modules
Note: Check Supermicro's website for recommended memory modules.
CAUTION
Exercise extreme care when installing or removing DIMM
modules to prevent any possible damage.
Installing & Removing DIMMs
1.Insert the desired number of DIMMs into the memory slots, starting with P1- DIMM #1A. (For best performance, please use the memory modules of the same type and same speed in the same bank.)
2.Position the DIMM module's bottom key to align it with the receptive point on the slot.
3.Push the Lock/Release tabs to the release positions. Make sure that the side notches of a DIMM module align with the Lock/Release tabs of the slot when pressed in.
4.Insert the DIMM module vertically and press it down until the module snaps into place.
5.Press the Lock/Release tabs to secure the DIMM module.

Removing Memory Modules
1.Reverse the steps above to remove the DIMM modules from the motherboard.
