9EQ key
Press this key to open the track EQ setting screen. (See “Track EQ (equalizer)” on page 45.)
Press this key and REVERB key at the same time to open the TRACK MUTE screen. (See “Muting tracks” on page 47.)
0LCD Display
This shows various information.
qREVERB knobs (TRACK 1 - TRACK 8)
Use to adjust the amount (volume) of the track playback signal or assigned input signal that is sent to the reverb effect.
wPAN knobs (TRACK 1 - TRACK 8)
Use to adjust the stereo position of the track playback signal or assigned input signal. (See “Stereo position (panning)” on page 45.)
eLEVEL knobs (TRACK 1 - TRACK 8)
Use to adjust the monitoring level of the track playback signal or assigned input signal. (See “Level and balance” on page 45.)
rREC keys and indicators (TRACK 1 - TRACK 8)
Use to arm a track for recording (turn recording ON/OFF). To monitor a track’s input sound through headphones or a monitoring system, press that track’s REC key. When the REC key is ON, the REC indicator blinks while the unit is stopped and lights during recording.
tFunction keys
The functions of these keys are shown at the bottom of the screen and depend on the current screen.
NOTE
•In this manual, the four function keys are referred to as F1, F2, F3 and F4 in order from left and right.
•The function keys have the following assignments on the Home Screen.
Stop (ª) + F1: Locate to the IN point
Stop (ª) + F2: Locate to the OUT point
F3: Set the IN point
F4: Set the OUT point
yDATA wheel
Use this to change parameter values when using menus.
uMENU key
Press this key to open the MENUscreen.
iHOME key
Press this key to open the Home Screen.
When the unit is stopped and the Home Screen is open, this key is used to move between the time divisions in the counter. (See “Direct locate function” on page 54.)
oMETRONOME key
Press this key to open the METRONOME setting screen. (See “Metronome” on page 64.)
pTUNER key
Press this key to open the TUNERscreen. (See “Tuner” on page 64.)
aUN/REDO key and indicator
Press this to undo the last action. Press again to redo it. (See “Undoing operations
(undo)” on page 49.)

sHISTORY key
Press this key to show the recording/ editing history. Use this screen to undo multiple operations at the same time with the
dÔ/RTZ key
Press this key when the transport is stopped or playing to fast rewind. Press it again to change the speed from 10x to 50x, again for 100x and 1000x.
If you press this key while holding down the stop ( ª) key, the transport will locate to the head of the song (RTZ). (See “Return To Zero (RTZ) and Last Recording Position (LRP)” on page 54.)
fStop ( ª) key
Press this key alone to stop recording, playback, fast forward and fast rewind. If you press the Ô or key at the same time, the transport will also
