4 − Recording and Playback

If the take is not currently in the selected project, a pop-up

Press and hold the Ô() or () keys to search backward or forward during playback. While

pressing the SHIFT key, press and hold a Ô() or

() key to search at high speed.

On the PLAY SETUP screen, you can set whether only the

 

currently selected take is played or whether all the takes within

 

the current folder are played. You can also enable and disable

 

repeat playback. (See “Playback settings (PLAY SETUP)” on page

 

45.)

Playback functions can also be used through parallel control.

When loading completes, the Home Screen reopens.

Disabling input monitoring

Turn input monitoring OFF for the channels (tracks) that you are playing back. If input monitoring is ON for a channel, sound will be input through the corresponding input connector.

1Touch the REC/MON button on the Home Screen to open the REC/MON screen.

2Touch the input monitoring buttons for the channels that you want to play to turn input monitoring OFF.

NOTE

You can also access the input monitoring buttons by pressing the MENU key to open the MENU screen or by touching the CHANNEL SETUP button to open the CHANNEL SETUP screen.

Start playback

Press the PLAY key.

Press the PAUSE key to pause playback. Press the PLAY key again to resume playback. Press the STOP (RETAKE) key to stop playback.

Press the Âand ¯keys briefly to change the take. While pressing the SHIFT key, press the Â(MARK Â) and ¯(MARK ¯) keys to move between marks.

Mixing the playback sound

Use the internal mixer function to mix the recorded tracks into stereo and output them to the ANALOG OUTPUTS L/A, R/B (XLR), and DIGITAL OUTPUT L-R (XLR) connectors.

1Press the HOME key on the front panel to open the Home Screen.

2Touch the PAN/LEVELbutton on the Home Screen to open the PAN/LEVELpage.

PAN knobs: Use these to adjust the left-right position sent to the stereo bus. Touch a knob and then adjust its value using the DATA dial.

2Mix LVL knob: Use these to adjust the level sent to the stereo bus. Touch a knob and then adjust its value using the DATA dial.

NOTE

When in solo mode, PAN or 2Mix LVL knob cannot be selected.
