TECHNICAL NOTE: If you record MP3 files, you can only play them on a device capable of playing MP3 files.

Using a microphone

To record high-quality sounds, you can use the internal microphone or attach an external microphone:

1If you are using the internal microphone, which is located near the front left corner of the computer, go to step 4. Otherwise, connect an external microphone to the computer, by locating the microphone jack on the left side of the computer.

2Plug the microphone cord into the microphone jack on your computer.3Turn on the microphone.

4Click Start, point to All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, then click Sound Recorder.

The Sound Recorder screen displays.
