About the Color of the Viewfinder LED

The color of the viewfinder LED indicates the state of the camera. The meaning of the LED color may differ according to the mode dial setting.

Viewfinder LED

Viewfinder LED				Meaning
Color	State
		[	] or [	] AE or AF are locked with the shutter button held
		half down
Green	ON	[	] Standby mode
		[	] Charging of battery is completed (with AC adapter
		connected)
	Blinking	[	] or [	] Self-timer in operation
		[Power ON] Writing to SmartMedia in progress
		Photographs can be taken, however do not set the mode dial to
Red	ON	[	].
		[	] Accessing of SmartMedia in progress
		[	] Charging of battery in progress (with AC Adapter
		connected)
Orange	ON	• Signal processing in progress after photography
		• Charging of flash in progress
			(Photography is not possible.)
