Setting Up the CellLink™ Bluetooth™ Connection
The new D3280 with CellLi nk technology c an connect with m obile phones that
support the Bluetooth V2.0 han dsfree profile.

phones.
If you are not certain of the prof iles supported by you r Bluetooth phone or if you
have difficulty pa iring your phone to the D328 0, see the manua l that came with
your phone.
With the CellLink feat ure, you can essent ially treat you r cellular phone as a
second line. You can use the D3280 hand set to make and rece ive calls on your
cellular phone number, put cellul ar calls on hold, a nd transfer ca lls to other
handsets. See page 10 for more infor mation.
Bluetooth wireless devic es have a maximum r ange of about 10 feet (3 m); the
actual range will v ary dependin g on local conditions (obst acles, battery p ower,
interference, etc.).

Pair your Bluetooth phone

Pairing “introduces ” two Bluetooth dev ices and gives them p ermission to connec t
to each other. In most cases, once you pa ir a phone to the D3280, t he two devices
connect automatically when ever they detect ea ch other. (If you have to manua lly
reconnect each time, check t he Bluetooth sett ings on your cellu lar phone.) You can
pair your Bluetooth device s through the D328 0 handset.
Press
menu/select
to display the handset’s main me nu.
Select the
Bluetooth
menu, then select the
Add Cell phone
submenu. The base goes
into pairing mode when the ha ndset displays

On your Bluetooth phone, start a s earch for other Bluetoot h devices. (Th is
process may take several se conds and it will b e different for each mobi le phone.
See your phone owner’s manual for detai led instruct ions.)

your phone asks if you want to pair w ith this devi ce, answer yes.
If your phone prompts you for a PIN code or password to pa ir with the D3280 ,
enter 0000 (four zeroes).
When your phone accepts the Bluetoot h connection, the D32 80 sounds a
confirmation tone. The Blueto oth device numbe r icon on the base and the
handset display light up.
Most cell phones automatica lly transfer the a udio to a Bluetoot h device
as soon as it pairs; if yours does not , look in your cell ph one’s Bluetooth
setup for a “transfer audio” o r “send audio to device ” option.

To test the connection

Pick up the handset from the cr adle.
